My Guitar Favourites
(19th)
The sudden and unexpected outbreak of COVID-19 took the world into the lockdown and disrupted the musical activities as well; the professional rehearsals and performances were suspended to keep the social contacts at a minimum and to respect the importance of staying at home. It was at such a context that I thought it best to arrange, play, and record some of my favourite pieces for guitar. In spite of many other important piled-up projects to do, I chose the works for guitar. It was the right time for it; trips, concerts, and classes were suspended, and despite the bitter fact of losing my dearest friend and supporter, my mother, -whose inexpressible sorrow struck my heart- the presence of music in my violin, viola, and guitar routines was not suspended. Music was the only haven I knew for temporarily forgetting the loss, and of course in the valued presence of my family by my side.
This album will be a memory of such hard times as we all have experienced. Let us listen to it and in enjoying the feast of Music let us fly by its wings, since the life is too short.
